Hi, I'm Tony Deblauwe. I created Work Babble as a way to bring together "all things work" into one place. I enjoy collaborating with others and hearing about trends, what people are thinking about, and offering perspective on what it means to thrive in today's work environment.

A little more background. I'm the founder of HR4Change  which is an HR information and consulting services firm. I've been in the HR field for about 15 years and have covered most things that go on under the umbrella of work like leadership development, organization strategy, talent management, and so forth. I'm a certified coach and went to the University of San Francisco where I got my Masters degree in Organizational Development and Human Resources.

I released a book on how to deal with bad bosses called, Tangling with Tyrants: Managing the Balance of Power at Work. This is definitely an area of expertise for me as the subject of reporting to a bad boss has been the #1 issue employees have come to me about seeking solutions. It's won two awards:

Other than that, I "dabble" in creative projects:

I invented a plush animal toy line called Pair 'O Pals. The concept is one animal turns inside out into another. It was released a while ago and carried by some retailers, but mostly independent distributors. This is was a fun a experience to be sure.

I have an app for that! Check out the iPocket Coach iPhone app which helps guide managers with scripts for a variety of workplace communications. On Facebook check out My Dream Team which is an app that provides a simple way to create a company for fun (or for real!).

I definitely enjoy conceptual design conversations and besides coaching about work stuff, I spend time collaborating with others on all kinds of designs be it software development or new garden tools.
